This qualification provides competencies for entry-level gas supply industry activities in transmission, distribution pipeline and cylinder operations and functions as outlined below: 

• Distribution pipeline activities, including assisting in laying distribution infrastructure (including pipes); assisting in the construction of gas pipeline infrastructure and reading gas meters in industrial, commercial, and rural environments, on pipelines, associated facilities and equipment, and control centres. 
• Transmission pipeline activities – PKD Training does not provide this training.   
• Gas cylinder operations – PKD Training does not provide this training.  

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication. 

 To be awarded the UEG20122 Certificate II in Gas Supply Industry Operations competency must be achieved in completing twelve (12) units of competency – 4 x Core; 4 x Group A; 2 x Group B and 2 x Other Elective units.

• Face-to-Face – Full Course delivered onsite at your workplace/ site location  
• Targeted knowledge training and assessment completed in workplace training room 
• Skills training contextualised to workplace and practical assessment completed onsite 
• Blended - Self-paced Modules with Face-to-Face Competency Assessment 
• Knowledge training is completed using self-paced modules with assessments, to be completed prior to Competency assessment 
• Competency assessment is completed with face-to-face observation and discussion onsite at your workplace/ site location; completion of Supervisor sign-off; workplace job requirement documentation as evidence.  

 A skill set in UEG20122 is a defined group of units focused on specific skills and knowledge required for targeted job roles or tasks within the Gas Supply Industry sector. It provides a flexible way to build skills specific to your worksite.  

PKD Training has selected units that are widely relevant across the Gas Supply Industry, supporting entry-level workers to confidently engage in training and build the knowledge and skills they will apply in their new roles. 

Completing this course helps bridge knowledge gaps, strengthen workplace capability, and convert on-the-job experience into nationally recognised qualifications

A copy of our current Skill Set is listed below. All Units of Competence can be viewed in detail at training.gov.au. 

• Practical assessment requires participants to be working onsite within the Gas Supply industry.  
• Applicants are entry-level workers, potentially trainees, wanting to build on the knowledge and skills being used in the new roles.  
• Applicants are expected to have access to workplace documentation required to complete workplace tasks reflected in the Skill Set. This will require access to the site Document Management System for components of some units
