The PMA Chemical, Hydrocarbons and Refining Training Package represents a science and technology-based industry with a diversity of processes used and competencies required.
PMA covers a wide range of occupations processing key primary and industrial resources. Occupations covered include operators of (fixed) plant through to paraprofessionals whose varied roles cover modifications and optimisation of plant and process and incident prevention, preparedness, and response.
The training package addresses the training and recognition needs of operators, technicians and paraprofessionals working in a wide range of sectors and processing a diverse range of materials. The training package has allowed industry to benchmark its internal competency development against a nationally agreed standard.
